LE CLOS SAINT-LOUIS QUEBEC CITY, Quebec City – A Smart Stay in the City

Feeling like royalty in our perfect room, this hotel offers an ideal space to cocoon at the end of the day and rest undisturbed by the hustle around. However, not helping with bags up the steep staircase to the second floor was a letdown, and the service, though competent, lacked the expected warmth. Location-wise, being right in the heart of Old Town Quebec was perfect, allowing easy access to both old and new parts of the city. The dining experience, far exceeding typical hotel standards with European-style delicacies, was a delightful surprise.

My stay at this hotel was a delightful experience overall. The rooms, although accessed by a fairly narrow and steep flight of stairs, had a wonderful ambience with stonework and brick walls, a unique armoire instead of a closet, and a beautiful four-poster bed with lovely bedding. It was different in a quirky way, which added to the charm. The service was exceptional, with the staff being very helpful, kind, and welcoming. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of Old Quebec, offering easy access to all the historic sights, restaurants, and shops. The dining experience was delicious, especially the mouth-watering French Toast. However, the facilities could use a little touch-up. Despite this, the value for money was still good.

The hotel offers good-sized rooms that are spacious, quiet, and clean, although they could use some updates or special touches. It feels like being in an antique shop. The staff and menu can be a bit peculiar at night.

I chose a quiet room on the top floor, which was perfect for a peaceful night's sleep after exploring beautiful Quebec City all day. However, the room was located in a small basement area. The bed was incredibly comfortable, offering a delightful sleep experience. The location was ideal, allowing easy access to all that Vieux Quebec City has to offer, with charming antiques and a beautiful marble fireplace in Old Quebec City.

While the rooms can feel stuffy and small, the quaint and homey atmosphere adds to the charm of the stay. The service felt truly welcoming, with the owner ensuring a warm reception. The location is excellent, just inside the old city walls and a short walk from the Chateau Frontenac boardwalk, ideal for exploring all Vieux Quebec City has to offer. The dining experience, though limited in options, offers freshly prepared meals by a cheerful cook. The facilities maintain a quaint old-world charm, enhancing the historic story of the hotel.
